The OSM Ground Eco is a 48v lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4)battery for usage with an external inverter. Thanks to its modular design the Battery grows with its requirements:

How does 48v li-on battery the work?
For the use of 48v lithium iron phosphate batteries, monitoring by an inverter to charge and discharge. They are not generating electricity, but storing energy from the grid or solar energy. In the event of a power outage, the 48v lithium ion battery will discharge, creating a self-sustaining personal grid that uses the stored energy to power your home.

Chemistry
The OSM Ground Eco is a lithium-ion storage product. Specifically, it is 48v lifepo4 battery. This is one of the most common lithium-ion battery technologies, and for good reason: relative to other types of batteries, LFP batteries are known for their high energy density (the amount of energy they can store relative to the physical space they take up) and increased safety.

What a modular 48V battery pack is
A modular pack is built from identical units that can be combined on site, so the system grows with the requirement instead of being replaced. The OSM Ground Eco follows that idea with three module sizes:

Every unit runs on the same 48 V bus, so capacity is added in steps without changing the voltage or the inverter.
Series and parallel limits
- Series — modules can be connected 2 to 8 in series to raise the system voltage within the pack’s supported range.
- Parallel — up to 16 modules can be paralleled, so capacity scales well beyond a single module.
- Equal state of charge before connecting — paralleling mismatched modules causes circulating currents and uneven ageing.
- One BMS to arbitrate — the master unit monitors the modules and reports the aggregate limits to the inverter.

48V modular battery FAQs
Can I add modules to a 48V battery later?
Yes, that is the point of a modular design. Add modules in parallel, matching their state of charge first, and the master BMS includes them in its aggregate limits.
How many 48V battery modules do I need?
Base it on the nightly load. A 5–6 kWh requirement is met by the 5.2 kWh module or two 2.6 kWh units; a full night of an average home needs the 10.4 kWh configuration.
Is a ground-mounted battery as good as a wall-mounted one?
Electrically identical — the difference is mechanical. Ground formats make expansion and servicing easier; wall formats save floor space if the wall can take the weight.
