Description
51.2V 280Ah LiFePO4 Forklift Battery: overview
The OSM 51.2V 280Ah LiFePO4 Forklift Battery is a 51.2 V / 280 Ah rated LiFePO4 traction battery, storing about 14.34 kWh of nameplate energy. It is engineered for electric forklifts, pallet trucks and multi-shift logistics.
LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry is the reference choice for this duty because it is thermally stable, keeps a flat voltage curve across most of the discharge, and tolerates daily deep cycling without the capacity walk-down that lead-acid suffers. The pack is assembled around Grade A cells and managed by a battery management system that enforces the published voltage, current and temperature limits from the factory.

Sizing this LiFePO4 traction battery for your project
51.2V 280Ah LiFePO4 Forklift Battery stores 14.34 kWh per pack. For a rough bank size, multiply by the number of units: 1 unit ≈ 14.34 kWh, 4 units ≈ 57.34 kWh, 8 units ≈ 114.69 kWh, 16 units ≈ 229.38 kWh. Confirm the parallel limit and the inverter charge current before you finalise the string.
System voltage. This is a 51.2 V unit, so it matches the 48 V / 51.2 V class of hybrid and off-grid inverters and can sit on the same DC bus as other modules of the same voltage class.

OEM and ODM customization
Beyond the standard configuration, OSM builds to order: enclosure colour and branding, nameplate and label artwork, packaging, cable and connector sets, communication protocol selection and matched charger or inverter bundles. Send the target specification and the artwork, and the engineering team returns a drawing and a quotation.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a LiFePO4 traction battery last on one charge?
The published cycle life is 4,000 cycles. Runtime per shift depends on the truck, the duty cycle and the load, but a LiFePO4 pack with 51.2 V / 280 Ah holds its voltage — and therefore the truck’s speed — right to the end of discharge, where a lead-acid pack fades progressively.
Will it fit my truck without modifications?
In most cases yes. Give us the truck make and model, the bay dimensions and the existing lead-acid voltage and capacity, and the OSM team will confirm the enclosure, the connector type and the counterweight requirement before you order.
How does it compare with the lead-acid pack I run now?
A LiFePO4 traction pack is roughly a third of the weight of the equivalent lead-acid pack, needs no watering and produces no gassing, so it can be charged and parked indoors. It also accepts higher charge current, which is what makes opportunity charging practical.
Can it be opportunity charged between shifts?
Yes — that is one of the main reasons to switch. LiFePO4 has no memory effect, so the pack can be topped up during breaks and lunch without shortening its life. Confirm the charger profile and the connector with us and we will match the BMS limits to it.
Do you supply samples and OEM branding?
Yes. OSM supplies single units and samples, and offers OEM/ODM on the enclosure, the label, the nameplate and the packaging. Send the artwork and the target specification and we will return a quotation with the lead time.
How is it shipped and what documents come with it?
Shipments go out as Class 9 dangerous goods with the UN38.3 test summary, the MSDS and the transport documents, packed for sea or air freight. Bulk orders can be consolidated so the container is loaded to suit your warehouse.
